Women and children in the proposed project area have to spend lot of their time to fetch water to fulfill their need and still water is not safe for drinking and other purpose. Drinking water source is at a distance of about 1800 meters from the village. Especially women and girls are deprived from other better opportunities like education and other productive works. Moreover this community are prone to different water borne diseases caused by impure drinking water and inadequate sanitation facilities. This has significantly reduced the productivity of the people, economic loss due to health hazards, and loss of time for education of children. About 98 percent of the total population of the area relies on farming for sustaining their livelihoods. The agricultural product is not sufficient to feed the farmer family for more than six months.
